In the 2024 guide, ECU has maintained its long-standing 5-star rating for undergraduate teaching quality. It’s now 17 straight years!

THE Young University Rankings lists the world’s best universities aged 50 years old or younger.
ECU is 32 years old in 2023 and is again ranked in the top 100 with an improved position on 2022.

For the third year in a row, ECU students have rated us the top public university in Australia for their overall experience as an undergraduate.

Among Western Australian universities, ECU is rated top in 5 of the 6 categories measured in the survey.
The Student Experience Survey National report is the only comprehensive survey of current higher education students in Australia. It’s based on hundreds of thousands of surveys completed in 2022 by students from all universities across Australia, both public and private.
Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching, or QILT, is an independent federal government survey that’s been administered annually since 2012.
ECU is again highly regarded internationally for Sports related subjects, ranking 33rd in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023 and 6th among Australian universities.
In Performing Arts, ECU again ranked in the top 100 globally. This places ECU equal first in Australia in this category, a significant achievement for the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings lists the top universities in the world based on their performance in teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
The latest rankings for 2023 have seen ECU ranked in the top 400 universities in the world for the first time, marking a jump of two category levels from featuring in the top 600 in 2019.

Our students have rated ECU Australia’s top public university for undergraduate teaching quality for the 7th year in a row in the latest QILT rankings (2021 Student Experience Survey).
In fact, ECU topped the rankings for public universities in Australia for undergraduate overall experience, teaching quality, skills development and learning resources.
ECU is also the top ranked university (public or private) in Western Australia for undergraduate overall experience, student support and learning resources.
Additionally, our international undergraduate students have rated ECU the top public university in Australia for overall experience.

For the first time, ECU has been rated 5 stars for postgraduate overall experience and the top WA university.

Times Higher Education World University Rankings
ECU has maintained its position in the top 500 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2022.
The World University Rankings is an annual list of more than 1000 of the top universities, ranked for their teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
This ranking places ECU in the top 2.5% of universities in the world.

Times Higher Education Impact Rankings
ECU’s reputation as a top university has shone through in the Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact Rankings for 2021.
The University was ranked in the top 50 for Gender Equality (24th), Good Health and Wellbeing (24th) and Quality Education (41st).
This is the third year of the THE Impact Rankings, which examine the contributions of universities towards the achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. These goals are a call-to-action by all countries to promote prosperity while protecting the planet.

QS World University Rankings Top 150 under 50
ECU has been listed in the QS Top 150 under 50 rankings for 2020. The rankings cover the world’s 150 leading institutions founded after 1967.
ECU was established in 1991 and appears in the 101-150 category.
