What is the Student Ambassador Program

The Student Ambassador Program is a leadership opportunity for students who are dedicated to serving and representing Edith Cowan University Sri Lanka Campus. The mission of the Student Ambassador Program is to cultivate student leaders who will share their university experience with prospective students, their families, and community members and represent the campus at special events.

What are the Roles and Responsibilities

President

  • Provide direction for the Ambassadors
  • Set agendas for all meetings, general and executive
  • Acting as a liaison between team, alumni, and administration, and serves as a representative to outside organizations
  • Coordinating activities with the advisor
  • Serving as member of the Membership Interview Board during new ambassador selection process
  • Leading strategies for team development, including, but not limited to: the creating, planning, and implementing of social events, new member training, new member induction, and other events

Vice President

  • Serve as co-advisor for the Student Ambassadors
  • Provide direction for the Ambassadors, and help oversee Student ambassador activities, including meetings and elections
  • Assist the President in Leading strategies for team development, including, but not limited to: the creating, planning, and implementing of social events, new member training, new member induction, and other events

Secretary

  • Being efficient, prompt, and able to keep accurate records
  • Recording all minutes at meetings, general and executive
  • Maintaining all team communication
  • Ensuring the dissemination of general meeting minutes
  • Coordinating the membership directory and contacts when needed

Coordinator

  • Coordinate activities and schedule events after appropriate planning and development.
  • Determine appropriate campus facilities for programs and reserves rooms and facilities for use.
  • Promote events through campus publicity and social media when appropriate.
  • Supervise and evaluate all student activity events and confers frequently with supervisor on student activity matters.
  • Responsible for managing the budget and requisitioning all payments related to these activities.

Treasurer

  • Plan the financial budget for each event
  • Provide regular financial updates to the committee and management.
  • Oversee or undertake the financial transactions of the club
  • Assist the president and vice president as needed in the day to day activities of the club.

Why Should You Join?

The Student Ambassador program creates opportunities for students to maintain relationships with the ECU student community. As Student Ambassador these students have the opportunity to make an impression on all prospective and current students. Students are given the opportunity to showcase their leadership skills, communication skills, interpersonal relations and other talents and develop the necessary communications skills required for the work force.
